Also, dental problems are big, as well as small things like coughs, colds, flu. Medicine is cheap, but the people are so poor, that they can't even afford it.

Health problems are all over, but there are many especially in western africa, eg. Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ivory coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Chad.

The scar won't go away, but you could look into something like collagen injections that will fill up the "indent" and minimize the way it looks. Check with a plastic surgeon, it shouldn't cost too much or be painful.

Lactose intolerance is not related. The other problems are possibly related, you should mention them to your doctor. If they're severe enough, you should get a referral to gastroenterologist (GI doc) to investigate further.
