Most of the people who "suffer" from Lyme disease HAVE been to real doctors! My husband has been to probably 30 different doctors over the past 10 years when he went from a completely healthy 40 year old man who NEVER got sick to suddenly having a dominoe affect of illnesses that started with what we thought was just the flu! He went through many misdiagnoses including MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Cardiomyoplathy, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Panic Anxiety disorder.... until finally stumbling over doctor who tested him for Lyme and it came back positive. This was a complete surprise because he had ALREADY been tested for Lyme severeal times before by different doctors but they were just false-negatives, which I have since learned is common. He was treated for over a year and a half with Oral, Itravenious, and Intra Muscular antiobiotics. The IV antibiotics were working but he had to stop because the Lyme had damaged his nerves to the point where he could not stand the pain of the IV any longer -- it happened to be a surgically placed IV in his chest going directly to his heart that required a huge needle stuck through the chest twice a day to access it. The IV was our last hope since orals were not strong enough. SOOOO after all of this, we were forced to turn to natural alternatives.... there were no more traditional medicine options left!! We soon learned about Rife machines via research and decided to give it a try. We have had our $1600 machine for a little over a week now and my husband is already 40% improved! So you tell me this is just a hoax! And that these Lyme people are just all hypochondriacs! Look on Yahoo's Lyme and Rife group and you will see that there are over 750 members! Many who are in remission because of Rifes and back to their lives! AND most of these people have ALL been through the many REAL doctors and their "tested" treatments already. When you are crippled and dying and told NOTHING more can be done for you then YOU just might get desperate enough to try other things... even crazy things and things you were once skeptical about. AND research RIFES again and you will find there is MORE scientic articles, positive talk on message boards about REAL people using them with success than the FEW skeptics articles saying they are a scam and illegal. Wikepedia is biased by the way on many things and should not be taken as a valid factual source. Read about Royal Rife and then just think how pharmaceutical companies would be totally screwed if his RIFE machine had ever taken off! They'de be out of business! And everyone with half a brain knows pharmaceutical and Insurance companies RUN this country though the politicans they lobby with their billions of dollars. Therefore no FDA approval, so that's why RIFEs are not in hospitals curing people!
And I can tell you that I am a perfectly healthy, normal person with no mental disorders who can vouch for my husband and all of these "Lyme" people that they are NOT hypochondriacs and their disease and "suffering" is VERY real. Hope I have opened your mind some.

You might have better luck posting this in alternative meds. The majority of the folks here usually go with the cdc recommended protocols. You could also do a search, "Lyme natural remedies" or "Lyme treatment naturopathic"

Okay, lyme disease is causes by a bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi. When a tick vector bites your dog the bacteria passes into the dog's tissue and this places the disease causing organism in a nice happy place (to it, anyway). It reproduces and causes the disease. This is how Lyme disease works. There are no herbs that will attack the mechanisms of pathogenesis in this organism. It is susceptible to certain antibiotics, however. The main trick would be to find something that would keep the ticks off the dog. There are many claims about many herbs, but there is not one lick of evidence that any of these claims work.

Also, herbs contain chemicals. Everything living contains, and uses chemicals. We are biochemical 'machines' if you will. I don't see the issue with 'prepared pills' if you're talking about things like insect repellant, or whatever. They're safe.

Oh yeah, Borrellia is not manmade, and neither are their tick vectors. They are all natural. So by your logic, they have to be safe?

The short answer to your question is simply "no".
