Living Well With Autoimmune Disease

Autoimmune disease Arthritis?

If your current vet, even if not experienced with this, is working with you to sort out your young dog, I think I'd stick with her, for now - better the Devil you know and all that and at least she's being honest with you about her experience, as you say. However, you are perfectly entitled to go for a second opinion, or ask for a referral to a specialist if you feel you need to.

Quality of life is my absolute yardstick, hard as it sometimes is with one so young. Hopefully she's turned the corner, and her improvement will be maintained!

I would caution you re researching on the internet. I was once told that this can often do more harm than good - a little knowledge and all that! It's hard not to look for information when these things happen - I know, first hand, when one of mine recently developed Marie's Disease (Hypertrophic Pulmonary Osteopathy) and we seemed to be going round in circles, spending huge sums of money, re treatment.

I have some weird thyroid test results...?

We Answered:

I don't see any mysteries or anything "weird" here. You have Hashimoto's. Everything you wrote adds up to Hashimoto's. Get tested for it and get into treatment. Do not stand for any further lack of follow up. I would actually fire any doctor who failed to follow up on any out of range test results that you have had, and get a new doctor.

When do i know she is going to stay?

We Answered:

You will know when she doesn't leave man. I have had a kidney disease that may end up shortening my life as well and gone through a couple girlfriend's that couldn't handle it when I would get bad and now I have a wife of 3 1/2 years and I can't imagine her ever leaving. You simply have to ask to find out where she stands and have a tough conversation with her.

I feel so lonely. Cant get a job :(?

We Answered:

So, what your saying is, you are loved by family that keeps you nearby, you had a wonderful life lesson about how NOT to be if your ever a boss... and for the time being you have access to a computer and can communicate with others...

your just in a season, God is reorganizing your life, he's getting your new friends ready in life to meet you.. they may need some changes before that can happen.. just wait this out, you'll be ok.. you sound like you have great writing skills, so just keep journalling this experience and maybe you can put it in a book one day..

If you get real lonely, maybe you can check out a bible... it can be a great pick me up if you let it.. or a good chicken soup for the soul book.
