I am not an expert by any means on critiquing a paper...

Having said that I will do my best...

I liked it...very gutsy, passionate. a topic that always
creates lots of controversy...

The first paragraph had me wondering why you didn't
mention the Muslim faith...yes you mentioned the
36,000 + others...are you allowed only so many
words...just curious...

The 5th paragraph I had to re-read several times, you
may want to go over that and fine tune it...

Do you need to mention separately where you got
your info from? The books, magazines, those that
wrote the articles, the date they were written???

It is important that quotes, material from other
sources be documented...

Check your spelling...

Maybe some balance put into your essay...by that
I mean science/research is necessary but there is
a hardness, a lack of emotion, and sometimes
a detachment to real life when it is only scientific...

You bet Religions are all powerful and do control
the masses but so does science, politics, money
and greed...

Don't ever be afraid of a challenge, question those in
authority...write controversial articles...

Write with passion, knowledge and most importantly
and open mind...

Just one example is the Crusades. You throw out the word as if everyone believes they were a bad thing. If it were not for the Crusades then you would probably be a Muslim and not even have the freedom to choose to be an Atheist.

Muslim armies had conquered much of northern Africa, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Spain, which had been some of the most heavily Christian areas in the world.

Thousands, and possibly millions, of Christians died during this drive to eventually bring the entire world under Islam.

The First Crusade was launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II to check the advance of the Muslims and regain control of the city of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

I am sure that some atrocities were committed by both sides during this war but by most people's judgment this was a just war.

Very informative, a good read. It does seem rather aggressive towards non-atheists however, especially the last paragraph. I'd suggest toning it down a bit and making it a little more passive. I respect your views, but as it sounds, you're likely setting yourself up to get lots of heat. It's no different than a spirited Christian spreading the word of Christ in the same fashion which, I'm sure, you yourself would respond negatively to were you in the audiences' place.

It's good that you found a belief you can live with happily, just be weary about who you try to force it upon. Not everyone will respond as politely as I have. Again, good essay; well written. Tone it down.
